Beth Ain is a writer, writing instructor, and college essay coach based in Port Washington, New York. She is the author of eight books (Random House, Scholastic, Candlewick), a professor of creative writing and children's literature at Hofstra University, and the director of the Roots Teen Leadership Program at Port Washington Library. Her adult, upmarket novel, Guidance, is in the works. She writes about Gen X parenthood, cultural memory, and the long echo of girlhood at her Substack, And She Was.
